Student Leadership Program at iTeach School

Student Leadership Program at iTeach School, Nerul: Building Confidence, Character & Changemakers

From shy beginnings to shining leadership, we, Sampoorna Shiksha, have started this Student Leadership Program at iTeach NMMC’92 English Medium Primary and Secondary School to help Student Council members step into their roles with confidence and clarity. Each session encourages them to explore their strengths, express their ideas, and understand the power of leading with empathy, proving that young minds, when guided well, grow into powerful changemakers.

Every Tuesday afternoon, the classrooms of iTeach School, Nerul, come alive with purpose, enthusiasm, and the spirit of leadership. Twenty handpicked Student Council leaders from Grades 5 to 10 gather from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM to embark on a transformational 12-session journey led by two dedicated facilitators: Ms Bhavana Shrivastava and Ms Ruchika Thakkar.

These students are not just participants; they are the chosen voices of their peers, the ones entrusted with responsibility, representation, and initiative. Through the Student Leadership Program, Sampoorna Shiksha is helping them step into their roles with clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of what it truly means to lead.

Session Highlights: Where Growth Comes Alive

Every week, the Student Council experiences learning that is energetic, reflective, and deeply meaningful. Through:

  • Leadership games that spark teamwork
  • Reflection circles that build self-awareness
  • Collaborative tasks that strengthen unity
  • Initiative-driven activities that push them to take charge.

The Heart Behind the Program: Our Facilitators

Our facilitators, Bhavana Shrivastava and Ruchika Thakkar, bring warmth, structure, and positive energy into each session. They create a space where every child feels:

  • Seen and valued
  • Heard without judgment
  • Empowered to express
  • Encouraged to lead fearlessly

Their approach ensures that leadership is not just taught-it is felt, practised, and lived.

The Journey Ahead

As the program progresses, each session will take the Student Council leaders one step further into their leadership journey. They will engage in activities and responsibilities that strengthen both their individual abilities and their collective teamwork. Over the coming weeks, they will work on:

  • Setting personal and group leadership goals
  • Designing and managing school-based initiatives
  • Taking on meaningful, responsibility-driven tasks
  • Participating in confidence-boosting challenges
  • Supporting peers through empathy and collaboration

At Sampoorna Shiksha, we believe that leadership must be ignited early-and when children are given the right guidance, they don’t just grow: They inspire, they influence, and they uplift entire communities.
