Daan Utsav 2025: A Week of Joy, Learning, and Giving

From stories to smiles, this Daan Utsav, the Sampoorna Shiksha celebrated the Joy of Giving Week (October 2–8, 2025) through meaningful acts of reflection, learning, and kindness, proving that every small act of giving can create ripples of joy across communities.

  • Day 1 (October 2): Kahani Utsav – Conquering the Ravana Within

We began the week with a reflective storytelling session led by  our volunteer Shivani Deo, who guided children and youth through the story “Conquering the Inner Ravana.” This Dussehra-inspired session turned storytelling into self-discovery, helping participants reflect on the anger, fear, and self-doubt we all must overcome.

  • Day 2 (October 3): Joy of Giving at MGM Dental College

Invited by Sewa Connect, we shared Sampoorna Shiksha’s mission of joyful learning and student leadership with young dental students at MGM Dental College, Kamothe. The session inspired them to use their empathy and skills to create change beyond clinics, proving that giving is contagious and begins with a single spark.

  • Day 3 (October 4): Learning Without Borders

Giving knows no boundaries, and neither does learning! Through our English on Call program, student volunteers from Dubai taught spoken English to learners in Pune, proving that giving can cross oceans, one call at a time.

  • Day 4 (October 5): New Beginnings with MGFF

In collaboration with MGFF, we launched Spoken English and Soft Skills Classes for 20 youth from underserved communities. Each session focused on building communication, confidence, and career readiness; turning learning into empowerment.

  • Day 5  (October 6): Joy of Toys at B.K.P. High School

Smiles grew brighter at B.K.P. High School, Ulwe, where 50+ nursery students received toys and Best of Luck kits as part of our Project Kitab Khilona. A heartfelt thanks to our generous donors, Ar. Nikunj Agarwal and Ar. Mansi Agarwal, whose kindness turned this day into a celebration of joy and play.

  • Day 6 (October 7): Kala Utsav – Where Colours Meet Kindness

Art met empathy on Day 6! Beneficiaries from across India joined a colourful Kala Utsav session guided by our volunteer Mrs Aruna Joshi, where they learned to draw a butterfly, discovering creativity, connection, and the joy of giving through art.

  • Day 7 (October 8): Soft Toy Collection Drive Across Mumbai

We concluded Daan Utsav with a city-wide Soft Toy Collection Drive across schools in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Boxes filled with toys and love will soon reach children in need, spreading happiness far beyond classrooms and reminding us that compassion shared is joy multiplied.

During Daan Utsav, we received generous contributions from schools and organisations, including Goldcrest International School, DY Patil International  School, Sadhu Vaswani School, and 63 Moons Technologies Ltd. Their support helped us collect soft toys, stationery, clothes, footwear, bags, books, and rations ready to bring smiles to children and families in need.

Soon, every toy, book, and essential will create countless smiles and happy hearts

Because every gift shared is a smile multiplied, and every act of kindness plants a seed of hope!

Unlocking Potential in the Himalayas: Sampoorna Shiksha Brought Experiential Learning to 120 Students in Rishikesh

Unlocking Potential in the Himalayas: Sampoorna Shiksha Brought Experiential Learning to 120 Students in Rishikesh

Rishikesh, Uttarakhand – From May 30 to June 5, 2025, the banks of the Ganga resonated not only with spiritual chants but with the vibrant sounds of discovery, creativity, and joy, as Sampoorna Shiksha successfully conducted its Panchatatva Summer Camp for over 150 students in Rishikesh.

This unique, week-long initiative took place at Shri Harichand Gupta Adarsh Kanya Inter College and brought together 121 students from eight schools ranging from grades 6 to 12, many of whom were first-generation learners from underserved communities.

The camp was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by Mr. Venkataraman (Pencilman of UAE), Mrs. Poonam Sharma (Principal), and the founders of Sampoorna Shiksha (SS) - Mrs. Pushpa Subramanian and Mrs. Lata Srinivasan. The managing committee - Mr. A.N Dubey and Mr. Ramashray Singh welcomed the SS team. Many local dignitaries like Dr. Ramgopal Gangwar, Jayaram Kushwaha, Veerendradutt Kudiyal, Ramkrishna Pokhriyal, Smt. Anu Rakhi, Chandrakala Negi, Shashi Joshi, Meenakshi Dubey, Maneesha Mishra, Aarti Gangwar,Alok Gautam and others were present to grace the occasion.

The camp offered a dynamic mix of career guidance, financial literacy, life skills, street theatre, cultural dance, storytelling, and more—delivered through an experiential, hands-on learning approach.

“These students are hungry for knowledge, but often don’t get access to opportunities that build real-world skills,” shared Sampoorna Shiksha’s co-founders Pushpa Subramanian and Lata Srinivasan. “Our mission has always been to bring relevant, interactive, and holistic education to the grassroots by making learning joyful and rooted in everyday life.”

The heart of the camp revolved around Sampoorna Shiksha’s pedagogical model, Panchtatva (The Five Elements). Each day was inspired by one of the elements—Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space—transforming abstract life concepts into tangible, nature-connected experiences.

From role-playing as budget ministers to crafting recycled art, from fireless cooking to performing Nukkad Nataks on pressing social issues, students fully engaged their hands, minds, and hearts in the learning process.

The camp was made possible through the generous local support of Mr. Ramashray Singh, Mr. Alakh Narayan Dubey, and Smt. Poonam Sharma, who played key roles in organizing and coordinating the event.

The program was led by Team Sampoorna Shiksha and powered by a passionate collective of volunteers from across India—including educators, facilitators, and changemakers—united in their mission to create joyful, inclusive, and meaningful learning spaces.

Learning beyond books: Our journey at the little champs Carnival Stall!

Learning beyond books: Our journey at the little champs Carnival Stall!

On the 8th and 9th of February, Sampoorna Shiksha proudly set up a stall at the Little Champs Carnival held at Sacred Heart Ground, Vashi. This initiative wasn’t just about participation—it was about visibility, engagement, and spreading awareness among the people of Navi Mumbai about our mission in education and community development.

Unlike other stalls focused on products, ours aimed to inform, inspire, and involve. We showcased our three core initiatives: E-Shiksha (digital education), Shiksha Vikas (volunteer-driven learning), and Spoken English & Teacher Training. Visitors were encouraged to connect through donations, volunteering, or linking us with communities in need. The response was overwhelming and deeply encouraging.

A major highlight was “Kahaniyon Ki Duniya”, a storytelling session conducted by our volunteer, Bharti. Her engaging narration captivated young children each day, adding a unique, emotional dimension.
