Sampoorna Shiksha celebrated Children's Day with the rural children in Tamilnadu
Sampoorna Shiksha celebrated Children’s Day with students in the interior districts of Tamil Nadu, visiting several schools in Tenkasi, Illanji,Krishnapuram, Puliyampatti, & Suchindram to engage with children and educators.
The journey began at Hindu Middle School - Harikeshavanallur in Tenkasi, where students greeted the team with warmth, performing skits and dances, and expressing their gratitude for the spoken English classes. The two-hour event ended with the distribution of cakes and pencils. At Vivekananda Vidyalayam -Tenkasi, the team was welcomed with a delicious lunch and appreciated the impact of the teacher training program in spoken English, which had boosted educators’ confidence.
The visit continued to Ramaswamy Pillai Higher Secondary School - Illanji, a century-old institution, where our project Kitab-Khilona- Toy Library was inaugurated. Discussions on educational projects like Tally, STEM, and spoken English for students of different grades were held. At Thirunavukkarasu Primary School- Krishnapuram, the inauguration of a toy library took place, and the management expressed gratitude for a classroom built on the terrace for better learning opportunities.
The team also visited Panchayat Union Primary School - Puliyampatti , where a cultural program for Children’s Day was held, followed by cake and pencil distribution. The trip concluded with a visit to schools in Suchindram, where future educational initiatives were discussed.
Sampoorna Shiksha aims to expand its educational activities to more schools in the region, thereby empowering more students & teachers.
