This summer, distance was no barrier to learning as Sampoorna Shiksha brought together children from schools and community centres across India through its engaging and interactive Online Summer Camps.
Conducted across KSSD (Bihar), Bansa Community Center (Uttar Pradesh), Amar Jyoti School (Rishikesh), Gajanand Learning Center (Uttar Pradesh), and Srijan Centres in Rauro and Amoond, the camps created a vibrant virtual learning space where children could connect, learn, and grow together.
Over 5 days, with 2 hours of engaging sessions each day, the camps reached 350+ children, providing them with opportunities to develop new skills, express their creativity, and explore new ideas from the comfort of their communities.
A Learning Experience Beyond Screens
The online camps were carefully designed to make learning interactive, enjoyable, and meaningful. Children participated in a variety of engaging sessions, including:
- Spoken English to build communication skills
- Art & Craft, Drawing & Painting to encourage creativity through activities such as Mandala Art, Free-Hand Drawing, Bookmark Making, and Cartoon Art.
- Storytelling sessions based on themes like Health & Hygiene, Indian Freedom Fighters, and National Symbols, helping children learn important values and develop their imagination
- Financial Literacy to introduce practical life skills
- Yoga & Meditation to promote mindfulness and well-being
Through games, discussions, creative activities, and hands-on learning exercises, children remained actively engaged while discovering new talents and interests.
Special Sessions by TCS Volunteers
One of the highlights of the camp was the enthusiastic participation of TCS volunteers, who conducted 8 special learning sessions for children across all centres and schools.
These sessions introduced children to important global themes and encouraged curiosity, awareness, and critical thinking through topics such as:
- World Press Freedom Day
- National Technology Day
- International Day of Biological Diversity
The sessions helped children understand how these themes connect to their daily lives while inspiring them to become informed and responsible citizens.
Meet the Changemakers
The heart of this camp was its incredible volunteers — Ms. Mahalaxmi Sridhar, Ms. Shalaka Mane, Ms. Priya Thakur, Ms. Jiya Salwan, Ms. Tanisha Sharma, Ms. Mugha Bansal, and Ms. Saleha Sayani.
Through their dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm, they transformed virtual classrooms into spaces filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful interactions. Their efforts ensured that every child felt encouraged to participate, explore new ideas, and express themselves confidently.
Creating Connections, Building Confidence
The online format not only enabled children from different locations to learn together but also helped them build confidence, improve communication skills, and develop a sense of curiosity about the world around them.
From sharing stories and artwork to participating in discussions and activities, children embraced every opportunity to learn and grow throughout the camp.
More Than an Online Camp
These summer camps were more than just virtual sessions – they were opportunities for children to learn, connect, create, and discover their potential.
At Sampoorna Shiksha, we believe quality learning should reach every child, regardless of geography. This summer, through the power of technology and dedicated volunteers, that vision came alive across multiple states, leaving children with new skills, brighter smiles, and memories that will inspire them long after the camp ended.
Here’s to many more journeys of learning, creativity, and impact – one child at a time.
