Summer of Smiles, Skills & Stories: Sampoorna Shiksha’s School Summer Camps in Navi Mumbai

This summer, classrooms transformed into spaces of creativity, confidence, and curiosity as Sampoorna Shiksha organized vibrant offline Summer Camps across three schools in Navi Mumbai — Pt. Motilal Nehru School (Nerul), Sanjeevan High School (Seawoods), and Balaji Kanha Patil School (Ulwe).

Over 5 days, with 3 hours of joyful learning each day, children experienced a perfect blend of fun and learning — proving that education doesn’t have to pause during vacations; it can evolve into something even more exciting. Reaching 300+ students across three schools, the summer camp created a meaningful and engaging learning impact.

Across 5 days and 15+ hours, children experienced joyful, activity-based sessions that built confidence, creativity, and expression.

A Learning Experience Beyond Books

The camps were thoughtfully designed to nurture both skills and imagination. Children explored a wide range of activities, including:

Spoken English to build confidence in communication
Art & Craft, Drawing & Painting to spark creativity
Environmental awareness sessions on topics like World Tiger Day and Noise Pollution
Storytelling that encouraged expression and imagination
Financial Literacy to introduce smart thinking early on
Yoga & Meditation for mindfulness and well-being
Handwriting Improvement for better presentation
Creative Reading Hub to build love for reading

Each session was interactive, engaging, and filled with laughter — making learning feel effortless and enjoyable.

Five Winters, One Commitment to Learning- Ensuring Learning Continues Through Winter

When winter arrives in Jammu, it brings breathtaking beauty—and severe disruption. Intense cold waves often force schools to shut down or function irregularly, leaving children without access to consistent learning for weeks at a time. These prolonged breaks don’t just interrupt academic progress; they weaken routines, confidence, and continuity.

At Sampoorna Shiksha, we believe that education cannot be dependent on seasons. For the past five years, in collaboration with Borderless World Foundation (BWF), we have been working to ensure that children continue learning even during the harshest winter months. The Online Winter Education Camp was created to provide structure, engagement, and academic support at a time when physical classrooms are simply not accessible.

Running a six-day-a-week program for three consecutive months required deep commitment. More than 20 volunteer educators came together to plan lessons, facilitate sessions, conduct assessments, and support students through doubt-solving and mentorship.

Their consistency ensured that students stayed connected—not just to subjects, but to people who believed in their potential and showed up for them every day.

Another Fabulous Batch of ITM Interns

From 3rd to 13th February, Undergraduates interns from ITM Skills University stepped into classrooms—not just to teach, but to connect. Their 10-day internship with Sampoorna Shiksha turned everyday learning spaces into hubs of energy, curiosity, and confidence.

Placed across Panvel Community Center, Pt. Motilal Nehru School, Sanjeevan High School, and the Darshan Darbar - Nerul Community Center, 25 interns worked closely with students from Grades 1 to 9. Each day brought new challenges, questions, and plenty of “wow” moments.

From Spoken English and Science to Maths, Social Science, and languages, lessons were filled with conversations, activities, and creative explanations. The interns encouraged students to speak up, ask questions, and enjoy learning—sometimes with laughter, sometimes with patience, always with heart.

In just ten days, these classrooms became spaces of shared growth. The interns left with stronger communication skills, deeper empathy, and the realization that teaching isn’t just about lessons—it’s about listening, understanding, and showing up.

Short in time, big in impact—this internship proved that meaningful learning can happen when enthusiasm meets purpose.

Sampoorna Shiksha at MuSo SPARK Festival 2026

At the MuSo SPARK Festival of Innovation 2026, Sanjeevan High School, our adopted school under Project Nav Nirman, proudly showcased student-led scientific inquiry that brought together environmental awareness, hands-on learning, and real-world problem-solving. As part of The Mangrove Life STEM inquiry, our students presented their project “Stopping Plastic Before It Chokes Mangroves”, drawing attention to the growing threat of plastic pollution in Mumbai’s mangrove ecosystems

The Mangrove Life was a collaborative initiative supported by the Australian Consulate General, Mumbai, led by Pikiji Learning, Australia, and presented at the Museum of Solutions (MuSo), Mumbai. Through this program, students engaged in experimental science, field-based learning, and inquiry rooted in real ecological challenges.

Our students explored how plastic waste affects mangrove saplings by comparing seed growth in clean soil versus soil mixed with plastic strips. Their observations revealed how plastic disrupts soil quality, restricts root growth, and threatens plant survival. Beyond experiments, students reflected on human responsibility and discussed simple, community-driven solutions to prevent plastic from entering mangrove habitats.

Representing Sanjeevan High School were students from Grades 7 to 9: Yogesh Mourya, Rohan Mishra, Aniket Chavan (Grade 9); Anushka Diwakar, Manthan Pawar, Niket Jaiswal (Grade 8); and Anshika Mourya, Abhinav Shekhar, Meet Rawal, and Sawanji Sharma (Grade 7). Their confident presentations and thoughtful interactions with festival visitors reflected deep engagement with the inquiry process.

The project was mentored by Ms Priya Jadhav, Science Teacher, whose guidance supported students throughout their learning journey. In recognition of their efforts, all participating students were awarded medals and certificates by us, celebrating curiosity, collaboration, and commitment to environmental stewardship.

Learning Beyond Classrooms: When SIES Business School Interns Stepped into Real Impact

What happens when management students step out of classrooms and into communities?

For the interns from SIES Business School, their internship with Sampoorna Shiksha, conducted from 20th November 2025 to 2nd February 2026, became a journey of learning, empathy, and action.

From teaching young learners to designing fun, activity-based lessons, the interns brought fresh energy into everyday classrooms. They explored creative ways to teach English, Maths, and values—turning learning into something children genuinely looked forward to.

Beyond teaching, the interns rolled up their sleeves to create digital content, document learning journeys, Curriculums, Stories & Presentations, Sorting & Packing Happy Pariksha Kits and support educators with fresh ideas. Every session came with its own lessons—patience, adaptability, teamwork, and leadership.

This internship wasn’t just about gaining experience; it was about creating impact. And for these interns, the biggest takeaway was simple yet powerful: meaningful learning happens when knowledge meets purpose.
